Rialacha an Choláiste/ College Rules

  • 1 Is í an Ghaeilge teanga an choláiste. Iarrtar ar gach dalta í a labhairt ó thus deireadh an chúrsa. Irish is the language of the college. Every student is asked to speak it from beginning to end of the course.
  • 2 Beifear ag súil leis go mbeidh gach dalta béasach agus cúirtéiseach le linn an chúrsa. It will be expected that every student will be behaved and courteous during the course.
  • 3 Iarrtar ar gach dalta a bheith in am do na himeachtaí ar fad ó thús deireadh an chúrsa; ranganna maidine, imeachtaí iarnóna, imeachtaí oíche agus béilí sa teach lóistín. Every student is asked to be on time for all activities throughout the course; morning classes, afternoon activities, night time activities and meals in the accommodation.
  • 4 Níl cead ag aon dalta a bheith as láthair ó aon cheann de na himeachtaí gan chead.No student is permitted to be absent from anyone of the activities without permission.
  • 5 Caithfidh gach dalta cloígh leis an modh iompair a chuireann an coláiste ar fáil dóibh. Níl cead ag aon dalta taisteal ina aonar.Every student must use the college transportation. Students are not permitted to travel on their own.
  • 6 Níl cead ag aon dalta an teach lóistín a fhágáil istoíche. Tógann an coláiste an ceart ar féin aon dalta a sháraíonn an riail seo a dhíbirt ón gcoláiste.Students are not permitted to leave the accommodation at night. The college reserves the right to expel any student who breaches this rule.
  • 7 Níl cead guma coganta sa choláiste ná sna tithe lóistín.Chewing gum is not permitted in the college or in the accommodation.
  • 8 Ar mhaithe le sábháilteacht, níl cead ag aon dalta dul ag snámh leo féin. Tógann an coláiste an ceart ar féin aon dalta a sháraíonn an riail seo a dhíbirt ón gcoláiste.For safety reasons, students are not permitted to go swimming alone. The college reserves the right to expel any student who breaches this rule.
  • 9 Tá cosc iomlán ar thobac, ar alcól, ar dhrugaí, ar thuaslagóirí agus ar aon substaintí eile atá mídhleathach nó nach bhfuil ceadaithe ag daoine faoi bhun 18 mbliana d’aois. Níl cead ag aon dalta dul isteach i dteach tábhairne/ósta.There is a complete ban on cigarettes, alcohol, solvents or any other substances not permitted by a person under 18 years. Students are not permitted in pubs/hotels.
  • 10 Caithfidh gach dalta a bheith freagrach as a threalamh pearsanta. Ná tabhair fón póca ná uirlisí teicneolaíochta chuig imeachtaí oifigiúla an choláiste. Students are responsible for their own belongings. Mobile phones and technology instruments are not to be brought to official college activities.
  • 11 Caithfidh gach dalta a bheith freagrach as a chuid airgid féin. Every student is responsible for their own money.
  • 12 Cabhróidh bean an tí leat maidir le cúrsaí bia agus le níochán ach caithfidh gach dalta cloígh le pé socruithe atá ag bean an tí – ise atá i gceannas sa teach.Bean an tí will help you with food and laundry. Each student must follow bean an tí’s arrangement as she is the person in charge in the house.
  • 13 Tógann an coláiste an ceart ar féin aon dalta bhíonn ciontach as drochiompar tromchúiseach a dhíbirt ón gcoláiste. Beidh ar thuismitheoir(í)/chaomhnóir(í) teacht go dtí an coláiste chun triall ar a bpáiste.The college reserves the right to expel any student who displays serious bad behaviour. Parents/ guardians will have to collect the student from the college.
  • 14 Beidh tuismitheoirí/caomhnóirí freagrach as aon chostas a éiríonn as drochiompar nó míchúram a bpáiste le linn an chúrsa seo.Parents/guardians will be responsible for any costs arising from bad behaviour or recklessness of their child.
  • 15 Tá cead ag daltaí fón póca a úsáid idir 10pm agus 11pm gach oíche. Níl cead ag daltaí teagmháil, glaoch ná téasc a sheoladh chuig daltaí eile ar an gcúrsa. Students may use mobile phones between 10pm and 11pm at night. Students are not permitted to call or text other students on the course.
  • 16 Beidh Coláiste Ghaoth Dobhair/Chú Chulainn ag súil le tacaíocht agus le comhoibriú iomlán ó gach dalta maidir le rialacha an choláiste. Má bhíonn ar an gcoláiste aon dalta a dhíbirt ón gcoláiste, ní bheidh aon aisíoc ar tháillí. Chomh maith leis sin, beidh tuismitheoir(í)/caomhnóir(í) freagrach as aon chostas breise a bhaineann leis na cásanna seo.Coláiste Ghaoth Dobhair/Chú Chulainn will expect full support and cooperation from every student with regard to the college rules. If the college has to expel a student there will be no refund on fees. Parents/guardians will also be responsible for any extra costs arising from these cases.
  • 17 Tá cead achomhairc a dhéanamh ar aon phionós a ghearrfar ar aon dalta. Féach polasaí achomhairc an choláiste.Every student has the right to appeal. See college’s appeals policy.

Ráiteas maidir le cúrsaí ar ceal 22/04/2020

Is le brón agus díoma go bhfuil ar Choláiste Ghaoth Dobhair na cúrsaí samhraidh do dhaoine óga a bhí le bheith againn a chur ar ceal. Tá an cinneadh seo déanta bunaithe ar threoir ó Fheidhmeannacht na Seirbhíse Sláinte agus ón Roinn Cultúir, Oidhreachta agus Gaeltachta. Tuigimid gur am dúshlánach é seo do gach duine agus ba mhaith le Coláiste Ghaoth Dobhair socruithe a dhéanamh le haon duine a bhfuil éarlais nó táillí íoctha acu cheana féin. This decision was made based on direction from the Health Service Executive and the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. We understand that this is a challenging time for everyone and Coláiste Ghaoth Dobhair would like to make arrangements with anyone who has paid a deposit or fees.
