Cúrsa A: Summer Course
• Coláiste Ghaoth Dobhair aim is to improve the
students' command of the spoken language and to
give them the confidence to communicate through
Irish.
• Coláiste Ghaoth Dobhair courses are both
stimulating and enjoyable and require students to
speak Irish for the full duration of the course to the
best of their ability.
• Students will be assessed by the teaching staff to
determine the class level which will best suit their
needs.
• We ensure a mixture of formal classes with other
cultural activities to ensure that every student has an
enjoyable experience whilst improving their Irish
language skills and expanding awareness of the Irish
heritage and culture.
• All formal classes are conducted by fully trained
teachers. Course material is based on the TEG
syllabus,Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge [TEG] is a
common European framework for language
assessment and certification, administered by National
University of Ireland Maynooth.
• All other activities are fully supervised by teachers
and staff members.
• Students stay with local families and each house has
been inspected by representatives of the Department
of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
• All Coláiste Ghaoth Dobhair's courses in the
Gaeltacht are approved by the relevant Governmental
Departments.
• Coláiste Ghaoth Dobhair is also registered with
CONCOS, the national federation of summer colleges.
